Un prop\u00f3sito claro es aumentar el conocimiento de la historia siria y la diversidad cultural sin enfatizar las diferencias. La antolog\u00eda contiene 21 cuentos populares sirios que se cuentan sobre refugiados sirios, ni\u00f1os, j\u00f3venes y ancianos, hombres y mujeres. A\u00fan existe una tradici\u00f3n activa y viva de narraci\u00f3n oral en Siria y en otros pa\u00edses del Medio Oriente. Estas historias, o m\u00e1s bien cuentos populares, capturan valores sociales y morales, entretenimiento y epopeyas heroicas.
